Session 1: The Magic Flute Aug. 24 - Sept. 20: 4 weeks

  • Sing in noon hour concert at NAC Fourth Stage (excerpts from The Magic Flute)
  • Work with Director Francois Racine for noon hour concert
  • Audit mainstage rehearsals when not called for other Opera Studio commitments
  • Coachings for noon hour concert rep
  • Coachings with Tyrone Paterson
  • Vocal Masterclass with Shannon Mercer, Soprano
  • Vocal Masterclass with Mariateresa Magisano, Soprano
  • Vocal Masterclass with Maria Pellegrini, Soprano
  • German diction classes with Lorne Richstone
  • Acting workshops with Alix Sideris
  • Fight/Stage Combat workshops with John Koensgen
  • Career Counselling Seminar
  • Coachings for The Bremen Town Musicians by Dean Burry

 

Session 2: Bremen School Tour Sept. 21-Oct. 18: 4 weeks

  • Sing role in The Bremen Town Musicians by Dean Burry; directed by Ann Hodges
  • Staging rehearsals begin Sept. 21
  • Training session with Liz Ciesluk, OLO make-up artist
  • School tour Oct. 5-9; 13-16
  • Coachings with Tyrone Paterson

 

Session 3: Bremen at NAC Fourth Stage: School/Public Shows Dec. 7-13: 1 week

  • Dec. 7, 8: Rehearse at Fourth Stage
  • Dec. 8-11: 6 school shows
  • Dec. 11-13: 4 public shows

 

 Ancillary Events: 1 week (Dates involved: Dec. 4,5/2009; Mar. 10,11,12,13/2010)

EQUITY INFORMATION

All Opera Studio participants are expected to be or become members of the Canadian Actors' Equity Association and as such receive appropriate remuneration as contracted members of CAEA.
